Interactive Prayer Stations on Trinity Sunday

Trinity Sunday provides a lot of wonderful images to explore the different names of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Below are ideas for interactive prayer stations focusing on our relationships with the different images of the Trinitarian God. The interactive prayer stations are meant to be intergenerational. There are also stations designed for ages 2-4. (For more specific instructions on layout, purpose, design, and more ideas, you can view previous posts tagged under “Interactive Prayer Stations.”)

Interactive Prayer Station #1: Imagine God’s love expressed to you

Materials: Candles, Copies of the Prayer

Light 3 candles as you say this prayer. You may choose to repeat it a few times. Imagine the different expressions of God’s love.

I light a light in the name of the God who fosters us

One is the God from whom all creation comes

Light shines in the darkness

Love flows

I light a light in the name of the savior who embraces us

One is the earth on which we make our bed and our home

Light shines on all wickedness

Love forgives

I light a light in the name of the spirit who encircles us

One is the air that all creatures breathe

Light shines on all sorrow

Love comforts

Interactive Prayer Station #2: Recall Christ’s love supporting you

Materials: 8 x 8 x 4 Glass Blocks, Paper, Pens

Briefly draw a map of your relationships journey.

Place it among the blocks, as a reminder of how Jesus has been real to you through loving relationships and now provides the solid foundation for your love to be offered in community.

Interactive Prayer Station #3: Remember the Holy Spirit’s love renewing you

Materials: Bowl of Water, Towels, Candles

Clean your hands with water & wipe them dry. Silently be reminded of the times when the spirit renews you from your former self to your renewed self in your daily life.

Pray for those times of renewal for which you desire.
